Module spotlight: Equipment Qualification & Calibration

Measurements you cannot trust are worse than none. Equipment qualification and calibration keep the tools that produce and test your product fit for purpose.

By MoniDoseQMS Team

If a gauge is out of calibration, every measurement it made is suspect. Equipment qualification and calibration keep the equipment that builds and tests your product qualified, calibrated, and maintained — so the data it produces can be trusted.

What you can do

  • Qualify equipment and document its intended use
  • Schedule and track calibration with due-date awareness
  • Manage maintenance so equipment stays fit for purpose
  • Keep a traceable history for every asset

Why it matters

ISO 13485 §7.6 requires control of monitoring and measuring equipment. A calibration schedule that surfaces overdue items before they are used keeps measurement integrity intact — and keeps a non-conformance from hiding inside trusted data.
