Module spotlight: quality metrics — KPIs, cost of quality, and SPC
A quality system generates data. Quality metrics turn that data into insight — KPIs, cost-of-quality tracking, and statistical process control that show whether your processes are really in control.

Quality is measurable, and measuring it is how you improve it. The quality metrics modules turn the activity of your QMS into clear indicators — so you can see trends, prove control, and make the case for improvement with numbers rather than opinions.
What you can do
- Track quality KPIs across the system
- Quantify the cost of quality — and the cost of poor quality
- Use statistical process control (SPC) charts to see whether a process is in control
- Run performance evaluations against your own targets
Why it matters
ISO 13485 §8.4 expects analysis of data, and management review expects evidence of performance. SPC and cost-of-quality metrics give you the leading indicators that catch a drifting process before it produces a non-conformance.
